Best spreader I have ever had, owned 4 prior to this one and use at least 6 times a year. A small crack showed up where the on and off control is bolted to the bin. Used construction glue and body washer to make a repair and will replace the bin if the repair fails. Would recommend and buy again. Used for about 4 years.

Purchased 2 of the new style 50 lb spreaders last spring
I have used old style 50 lb spyker for business for 20 years they were discontinued in Canada finally found a dealer who brought new style in to Canada for me was a little expensive
Deflector doesn’t go up all the way up and can come down while working finding the right setting was a little difficult
We got through the season they held up well the 50 lb unit for residential is the perfect size

Upgraded to this from a Scotts Elite. Very well made, the spread is excellent, and the big tires make it easy to push around. I also added the side deflector. Well worth the money!

Best walk behind spreader I’ve ever purchased
Was having small so decided to rebuild while parts are available which went well until I needed a $3 bushing and shipping was $30 for something the size of an acorn
So I haven’t finished rebuild

Had my 50 pound Spyker about 4 years and use 4 to 6 times a year. Best spreader I’ve ever had and recommend it. The tub has a crack at the point where the on and off control mounts. This is likely due to my aggressive actions with the control lever. I have made a repair with construction glue and body washer and if that repair fails I will purchase a new tub. Very nice spreader and enjoy using it.

Had my 50 pound spiker at least 4 years. It has done a very nice job for me. Used about 6 times a year. The tub has developed a crack at the one of the mounting bolts for the on and off bracket mounting point. Made a repair with construction glue and added a body washer for more support. I will purchase a new tub if the repair doesn’t hold up as the crack is likely wear and tear from using the on and off controller too aggressively. Best spreader I have ever owned and recommend it.

Rust proof with plastic hopper and spreader.
Large pneumatic wheels make it easy to push through yard, even uphill slopes.
Hopper large enough to hold regular bag of fertilizer.
Gailen Hart –
Easy to assemble.
Pneumatic wheels make it very easy to push through lawn, including up hill in my yard.
Stainless steel and plastic hopper and spreader tray make it rust proof.

Very solid unit and impressed with how it spreads. A calibration before use and it’s ready to go. Best spreader I ever had.

I’ve had my spreader just under a year and it has never failed me once. The difference for me is the hopper design and the gearing, it’s so smooth, never binds or has unnecessary resistance. The pattern of spread is perfect and even every time. You will not be disappointed. .

This is a very solid unit and it spreads very even and well once you get it calibrated properly. It does better than average out of the box.

Just upgraded to an Ergo Pro from another well known brand. This one seems to broadcast much better than my prior spreader. I have a 50,000sq/ft lawn so I need something that will work. So far its has performed well. The price is a bit high but overall I’m happy with my purchase.

Purchased the 50 pound ergo pro in June. Used it 3 times now and 3 times disappointed. In my opinion the agitator inside the hopper is too high doing little if anything to facilitate the flow. The flow is only consistent when the setting is at 4 or higher which is too heavy for my application when I apply the fert in a cross cross pattern on my lawn.
Called company twice and got the same answer twice to open it further or try removing the agitator.
I tried this and it made no difference.
I came up with a solution but havent tried this yet as soon as I do I will update this review.
Also I find the the shut of control and the drive shaft rather flimsy. Again I will comment on this on my updated review.
I love the wheels, the handle and the hopper. The machine feels great but very disappointed with the output and the settings.

Purchased my Spyker 50 Ergo in June. I have now used it 3 times
My lawn is 10,000 square feet. I was trying to upgrade from a 39 dollar Scott’s spreader. So I’ve used it 3 times and I’ve been disappointed 3 times. The issue I have is that if you’re applying anything less than 5 or 6 pounds per 1000 square feet the discharge is aweful. I think the flimsy agitator in the hopper sits way too high up from the discharge and doesn’t agitate or facilitate the discharge. I’m trying to apply 4 pounds per 1000 square feet and therefore the flow will actually stop. I called the company 2x with this issue and they suggested I need to open the gait more. However. I would then be applying too much fert. I had to keep my setting at 4 to 4.5 which makes the fert flow way to fast.
Maybe its operator error. If anyone has a suggestion I’m open
Also I find the gear box, the side deflector, the shut off lever are all flimsy for the price I paid. I’m a little ticked because I passed on a Lasco spreader for 50% of the cost of the spyker and Lasko did make a great improvement on they’re hopper agitator.
I will continue to use the Spyker and do a follow up but for now it is what it is.
I did make a change to my agitator but I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t comment. As soon as I use my spreader again I will explain.
For now my 39 dollar Scott’s works better than my Spyker. It’s a bummer. I really want this to work out.

I have had this spreader for 5 years and have spread countless bags of fertilizer with it with no issues, great spreader!

Iv has this spreader for about a year now. By far the best Iv owned as of yet. It definitely built to last and has a perfect spread. Doesn’t leave fertilizer stripes the it’s competitors.

My Spyker has been an awesome spreader! Everything you need to know is in the manual ( I know because I finally built one…. ok so my 13 year old son built it… I have a video, I was there …) This isn’t a homeowner grade spreader, it’s pro grade, but with that said, any home owners who would like to have a pro grade, these should be your go to spreader!
On any product that gives you control over certain aspects, like the accuway spreader dial, they do take fine tuning and adjustments, to give you Precisely the pattern your looking for (this isn’t a you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit, one size fits all application, like cheap speeders). Over all my Spyker has been really solid and has not posed any issues or headache to this point, in over a year of ownership. Thank you Spyker!

After using several competitors & being disappointed I’ve finally found a reliable spreader that can be used for residential and commercial! The accuway is awesome, produces a smooth even spread. The gear ratio allows for a wider spread pattern which makes bigger jobs that much easier & the oversized tires are great for any terrain. Nice job Spyker!

Owned this spreader a little over a year now. One if the best I’ve ever used, and I’ve used competitors in the industry. The accuway is a game changer. Not much this spreader can’t do, residential and commercial.

My landscape company has been using our Spyker 50# stainless spreader now for 2 years. We purchased it used, fixed it up (new bin and some hand grips) and its been going strong! Living in a very seasonal area our spreader gets used for ice melt application in commercial parking lots, residential driveways and pathways in the winter, #2500+ pounds and approximately #3000 pounds of fertilizer is applied to our clients lawns lawns spring, summer and fall. The spreader has performed better than my expectations!! With the broad even spread and even distribution It’s been a life saver. I would recommend them to anyone.
Keep up the great work Spyker!
P.S. works great for grass seed application too.

Purchased my spy50-1p spreader about 9 months ago. I’ve used it 4 times as a homeowner and The hopper is cracked where the linkage bar attaches to the hopper. I also attached the optional deflector and the hopper is cracked here at the two attachment points. For the cost of this unit I’m afraid I’m disappointed with it. It’s currently waiting for warranty approval. It’s been stored inside the entire time.
To Be determined –
Great spreader. Only issues that I have is the dealer setting snapped over upon arrival and it takes a little bit bit to figure out the accuway setting in order to have the correct spray pattern.
