Denny Lamers –
I have two of these and they are the best I’ve ever had. I have nearly 10 acres of lawn and the spreaders are perfect for my use.

I have owned this spreader for nearly 10 years with great service. I broke a part after a few years but was able to order and replace that part, extending the service for 5 years now. I absolutely hate spending money on any equipment and not being able to acquire replacement parts, resulting in trashing my investment!
Overall, I’m very pleased with this spreader.

I have had this spreader for over 10 years. Other tow behind spreaders got gears stripped. Spyker has grease fittings with metal gears.

I recently order the tow behind 175. After reading the reviews I felt something had to be corrected on the lever for the flow. First a plastic washer that size and paterial is not a product for a friction device and the diameter for it and the flat washer on the opposite side are to small to apply clamping force to the lever. I used the existing spacer , but a larger diameter spacer would be better. I replaced the black plastic washer and the flat washer on the opposite side with a 7/8 diameter plated washer to increase the bearing surface against the lever. I then adjusted the nut for drag to hold the lever in position. The better choice would be to have washers with a material similiar to a brake pad on them, they would be less smooth and mor aggresive. The other problem I had was the tubular frame which supports the wheels had no holes to mount it to the hopper. Customer service was notified and a replacement should be on the way. I have not had the oppurtunity to try the function yet. I would have rated it higher, but the control lever problem has been mentioned by other customers and nothing has been corrected .

I purchased this about 12 years ago. It is still working fine. We use it three to four times a year!

I have this product branded for John Deere. I’ve had it for years and had to buy a replacement plastic part that broke due to what I’d consider a poor design or material choice, so I bought two of the parts. As long as I operate it carefully, it works fine and I expect many more service years.

The spreader worked great! Then after about a year it needed some replacement parts and that was a difficult procedure. I would buy a spyker spreader again.

Ordered parts for an older model pull spreader. Unfortunately some of the parts were not interchangeable with my older model. The parts that did work were of course great quality. Customer service left a lot to be desired regarding the return and refund for returned parts.

Mine is an older model with plastic shutoff parts that were broken when I bought it, (used) but parts were no longer available, so I “MacGyver” it. after that, I’ve been using it for 3 years with no problems.

Good product, Good Value

I’ve had mine for about 6 years – I’ve pulled it when it was full of fertilizer
across rough plowed field and it did great – never a problem – I wouldn’t look anywhere else if I needed another – great product!!!!!

I’ve had this spreader for about 6 years now. It works as well as the day I bought it. Use it on multiple yards through the year. Will definitely buy again if I ever have to.
